The internship for the City of Reno’s Regional Arts and Culture Commission investigated survey data gathered from events hosted by City of Reno Arts & Culture grant recipients for the year 2019-2020. The data is constituted by 739 individual surveys comprised of 13 unique events in Reno.
Data entry consisted of building a form entry dashboard from custom-coded PHP pages, all hosted on a local AMPPS server. The data was collected in a mySQL database and then exported as a spreadsheet for the overall analysis. Using the AMPPS server allowed the dashboard database concept to be safely tested without interfering with the structure of the internal City of Reno intranet.
Overall, the data analysis internship was a huge success, as it allowed me to build on my data-design skillset while producing real insight that the City of Reno could use for future event planning.
